Hundreds of residents in Keta thronged the Tettekope beach in the Volta region to have a glimpse of a dead whale that washed ashore.

The dead mammal was discovered on the beach Tuesday morning by some fishermen in the area.

According to reports, the dead whale was about 39 feet long and 16 feet in height. It is, however, not known what led to the death of the whale.

Residents who thronged the beach attempted to drag the huge whale to the dry land to have a closer look.
