Officials of the  Intercity STC and GPRTU in Kumasi will today meet the Regional Minister to resolve disagreements which erupted between them on Monday

The STC’s decision to relocate from their Adum to the Asafo bus terminal was met with stiff opposition by the private transport operators.

The drivers and other workers of the terminal blocked the entrance with their buses preventing STC buses from accessing the station. According to STC, they have legally acquired a portion of the bus terminal from the Ghana Private Roads and Transport Union.

But the transport operators say the move will affect their businesses negatively. Public Relations Officer of the GPRTU Lukeman Owusu Ansah told Starr News the Officer who allocated the space to STC did not have the power to do so.

But Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah says the matter ought to be resolved without acrimony.

“The issue was brought to my attention and I had to rush to the place to resolve it.What I want is that come today, we will have   a peaceful atmosphere to resolve the issue”.
