Two persons have been rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Centre following an attack on them by suspected landguards who operate in the Gomoa Fetteh area in the Central region.
The two identified as Kwesi Alhaji, 32 and Abdul Rahim 31, had been sent by the chief of the town to show a buyer a plot of land when their attackers wielding AK 47 riffles unleashed bullets on them.
Three other persons who were with the wounded have also gone missing with the police mounting a search for them.
The attackers according to the police ambushed them and shot at them.
Meanwhile, the police at Kasoa have arrested three suspects whom they believe were the brains behind the said attacks.
The three according to the police commander were mentioned by one of the victims as being part of the group who perpetuated the crime against them on the said parcel of land.
The names of the three have been withheld by the police because of investigations and will soon be arraigned before court.
The Kasoa police Commander ACP Dennis Abade in an interview with Starr News’ Central Regional Correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour indicated that landguard activities and subsequent attacks are rampant and a serious challenge in the area adding that the police are doing their best to contain it.
The suspects, he said wield sophisticated weapons making it difficult to easily contain them.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Fetteh Kakraba, Nana Ekow Kodemawu has urged the police to double up efforts in ending activities of land guards in the area as their activities pose a serious threat to lives and property in the area.
The people, he added may be forced to take the law into their own hands if the land guards are not stopped.
