Hundreds of residents in the Kumasi metropolis on Saturday benefitted from a walkathon and free health-screening organized by telecom giant, MTN.

The event which forms part of MTN’s AshantiFest activities is aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle of individuals.

The only 4G mobile network operator this time around, scheduled a community football gala on its AshantiFest timeline to explore talents and also entertain. About 10 neighbourhood clubs are expected to play against each other.

Speaking to Ultimate News, Head of Technical Services, at MTN Northern Zone, Charles Osei Akoto said “they want to go every length to make the lives of their customers better”.

“As part of our AshantiFest programme so far, we have done a customer soiree, where we gathered our high-value customers at Golden Bean Hotel and entertained them. We are not leaving other people, like the youth aside, that is why we organized this health screening and walkathon.”

“This year we are stressing much on health and also organizing a community gala for about 10 teams and it will be held at the Asem Boys School. Now this is the special thing among this year’s AshantiFest events and we want to touch every corner”.

The MTN Technical boss added that the network will continue to invest more in changing lives.

“MTN looks at business from a wider view and do not focus on our core areas only because MTN has a philosophy that without our customers, we do not have any business. We will therefore do anything to help our customers to live a good life in order to support us.”
