A three-storey building on the verge of collapse in the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi is to be demolished by the city authorities.

The 3-storey building located at Subin, a suburb of Kumasi started falling off Wednesday morning and could collapse anytime soon.

It is located behind the railway station in the area and houses over 12 different stores.

According to the Ashanti regional coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Kwabena Senkyiere the building must be demolished to prevent any disaster.

Traders and other occupants of the building have been evacuated while the building has been cordoned off.
