The Greater Accra regional Police Command has arrested over 150 suspected criminals in Madina, a suburb in Accra.

The swoop was carried out on Monday following a tip-off.

Speaking to Starr News, Public Affairs Director at the Accra regional Police Command, ASP Efia Tenge said the suspects included 45 females.

The Police reportedly seized substances believed to be Indian hemp, cutlass, hammers and other weapons from the suspects.

ASP Tenge called on members of the public who have suffered attacks in the metropolis to volunteer and help identify the criminals.

She indicated that the swoop is one of several operations outlined by the police to rid capital of crime and violent attacks.
