Richard Appiah Turkson an inmate of the Kumasi central prison has outdoored his maiden gospel album titled “Me ne Nyame nam”.

The six track album which has worship and praise songs  was produced by popular Kumasi based sound engineer Wapicollo and the Ablaze studios.

The album has songs like “Aseda”, “The Lord’s purpose” and “So me mu Nyame” features  Nhyira Betty. The prisoner who doubles as the leader of the prison choir plays the keyboard and his dream to become a sound engineer when discharged from the facility.

Richard was arrested in April 2006 in Kumasi and was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.

Richard who is also a song writer performed as an underground artist at several music festivals before he was convicted in 2006 to serve a 20 year jail term.

His dream is to work with award winning gospel artist such as Obaapa Christy and highlife icon Kwabena Kwabena in his music career.

He is appealing to music fans and the general public to support his brand so he can also positively affect the lives of inmates to the glory of God.
