Egypt will host Congo without the trio of Abdallah El-Said, Hossam Ashour and Mahmoud Abdel-Monem “Kahraba” in a FIFA World Cup qualifier at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on Sunday.

The first two Alhly teammates are out due to injuries both sustained during CAF Champions League games.

Mahmoud Abdel-Monem has also been ruled out due to a leg injury.

The trio have been replaced by Moemen Zakareya, Hossam Hassan and Mohamed Fathi.

“Saleh Gomaa will be a suitable replacement for the injured Abdallah El-Said,” Cuper said.

“I am convinced by the performance of Saleh Gomaa, as well as any player in the team squad who can participate, according to the needs of the game.

“Egypt’s national team will be affected by the absence of injured forward Kahraba,” he added.

For Egypt to make the World Cup, they will have to pray Ghana beats Uganda in Kampala their next Group E clash on Saturday and then win their clash against Congo on Sunday to qualify.
