At least two people have died in an accident at Amoma Nkwanta in the Brong Ahafo region.

The two were among passengers on a Takoradi-Bolgatanga bound STC bus with registration number GE- 5187-16.

Police in Jaman who were called to the scene of the accident at about 6: 45 pm Monday say the driver of the STC bus was rerouting through Techiman when the driver received information on the way that the Buipe bridge had been closed to traffic.

The STC driver, in the process, reportedly hit the rear of a Mercedes articulated truck moving in the same direction.

The 32 passengers on board the STC bus are said to have sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the Jema government hospital, the Kintampo Municipal Hospital and the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.

The police escort on the bus Frank Dogbe also sustained injuries and is on admission at the Holy family hospital in Techiman.
