A youth group has locked up an office of the Water Sanitation and Management Team in Badu, a community in the Tain District of the Brong Ahafo region.

Information gathered indicates that the youth suspected to be members of the New Patriotic Party were led by Iddrisu Yusif a former acting board member of the Water Sanitation and Management Team formerly known as Water Board.

The Assembly Member for one of the Electoral areas in Badu East, James Tano, who is also the Chairman of the Town Council, said the group besieged the office and locked it up Friday morning after a report of misappropriating funds was lodged against Mr. Iddrisu.

Mr. Iddrisu is accused of blowing an amount of GHc2, 900. After a report was made against him, he reportedly organised the youth in the community to lock up the office and other government institutions in the community.

Mr. Tano told Starrfmonline.com that Hon. Iddrisu claims that their government is in power and wondered why a report of financial mismanagement should be made against him.

The Police in the area have, however, restored calm and taken over the locked office.

Several attempts to get a reaction from Mr. Iddrisu have proved futile.
