The Ghana Revenue Authority has destroyed products worth 50,000 dollars.

The products were found to be unwholesome during an assessment of confiscated items along the Eastern corridor.

They included pharmaceutical and grocery products among others.

Addressing journalists after the exercise Tuesday,  a Chief Revenue Officer at the GRA, Emmanuel Adjei submits disclosed that the destroyed items were uncovered during a re-examination of items that were intercepted during monitoring levels of compliance from frontier stations.

“Most of these items are coming from the eastern corridor and in the course of re-examination, to do monitoring and assess compliance level,…we found out that some of these items were part of the consignments for clearance and they do need the standards for public use…,” he explained.
