Ghanaian students in Turkey held a grand celebration for legendary Ghana Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan on the occasion of his 32ndbirthday.

The students numbering about 30 held a picnic on campus at the Firat University, Elazig Turkey to celebrate the achievement of the former Sunderland striker who turned 32 on Wednesday 22nd November this year.

They were joined by many Turkish and other nationals to celebrate the iconic Ghana captain who is Africa’s all time goal scorer at the FIFA World Cup with 6 goals, an achievement Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are sweating to equal.

These graduates are currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Education course at the Firat University, Elazig, Turkey.

Asamoah Gyan is the country’s all-time leading scorer for the senior national team, having scored 52 goals in 98 appearances with his first coming on his debut against Somalia on 19 November 2003.

Gyan has appeared in three World Cups and has scored more goals (6) than any African player in the global showpiece.

In 2010 Gyan was voted BBC African Footballer of year, only to miss out on the CAF award to Samuel Eto’o.
