A memorial service will be held this morning in Accra for the late radio presenter Kwadwo Asare Baffuor Acheampong popularly known as KABA.

The Asempa Fm broadcaster died over the weekend at the age of 37. His death has shocked many including his colleague journalists and ardent listeners of his late afternoon program. MP for Bodi Constituency Sampson Ahi told Starr News the late broadcaster must be given a state burial.

“You cannot associate KABA to a particular political party and the knowledge that he has in all the subjects that he treats is very encouraging, I don’t think it’s only Politicians who deserve state burial I think Journalists who have distinguished themselves creditably like KABA has done deserve state burial”.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Journalists Association says the death of KABA is a big blow to the Association and the country.

In a statement, the GJA described KABA as an astute broadcast journalist who helped to expand the frontiers of freedom of expression and also deepen the country’s fledgling democracy.
