Deportivo Alaves midfielder, Mubarak Wakaso has earned his first Black Stars call-up after the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 27-year-old who earned his first call-up under Kwesi Appiah in late 2012 became a core member of the Black Stars and ended representing Ghana in the three Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and one FIFA World Cup, but he was excluded from the team when the former Kotoko skipper returned as coach of Ghana.

However, after calls by a section of Ghanaians for the inclusion of some of the experienced faces in midfield who have been overlooked, Kwesi Appiah has handed Wakaso a call-up for clash against Egypt next month.

Egypt have already qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup ahead of Ghana, hence the clash at Cape Coast is for mere academic exercise.
