A student of the Damongo Senior High School in the West Gonja district of the Northern region has reportedly died of suspected meningitis.

According to reports, nine others are also on admission at the Damongo District Hospital.

Health officials are, however, yet to confirm if the students have been infected with meningitis.

The situation has reportedly caused fear and panic among students of the school.

This comes after four students of the Kumasi Academy in the Ashanti region died of an outbreak of H1N1 popularly known as Swine Flu.

On Saturday a student of the Koforidua Secondary Technical School (SECTECH) also died of suspected Meningitis at the Koforidua General Hospital.

22 students of the Koforidua SECTECH are currently being monitored after they came in contact with the deceased student.

On Monday Over 17 students of the St. Martins Secondary School also colalpsed in what has been described as examination anxiety.
