The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has nominated Mr. Agyeman Asiedu as the New District Chief Executive for the Upper Denkyira West District Assembly in the Central region.
He replaces Daniel Appianing who vacated his post in June this year after he was suspended.
Mr. Appianing was suspended after he stated that the late Captain Maxwell Mahama and his colleagues from the 5th Infantry Battalion who were deployed to wage war on illegal mining, were instead protecting illegal miners.
A statement signed by the Local Government Minister Hajia Alima Mahama said Mr. Agyeman must liaise with the regional electoral commission to conduct the confirmation process.
His appointment is in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 constitution and section 20(1) of the Local Government Act, Act 936.
