Officials of the Ghana Post Company, operators of the Ghana Post GPS App, met with some officers of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFC) to enlighten them on the importance of the digital address system.

The officers were also taken through the processes in which the app will serve the service to make their work feasible in terms of locating an area or residence during a fire outbreak or emergency.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is one of the Agencies under the ministry of Interior. The objective of the service is to prevent and manage undesired fire.

An official of Ghana Post Company Mr. Jude Owusu Sekyere, spoke on the benefits of the digital address system app and how the officers could access it. He also said that the digital property address system covers every inch of the country and ensures that all locations in the country are addressed.

The National Digital Property Addressing system (NDPAS) was launched in October 2017 by President Akufo-Addo to provide effective means of addressing every location and property to facilitate the complementation of key Government Policies.

Also in attendance was the Fire chief Edwin Ekow Blankson, his deputies and some junior officers of the service. The team of officials from the Ghana Post Company Limited was headed by the head of communications of the company, who also addressed some concerns raised by the officers pertaining to the GPS address system.

The Corporate Communications Manager of Ghana Post Company, Kobi Hemaa Osisiadan-Bekoe, encouraged all who were present at the meeting to register for their digital address since it will help them easily locate areas and places that have been hit by disasters.

The App can be downloaded from the google play store or Appstore by following prompts on the app which will help users install and generate their addresses.
