The Black Stars of Ghana defeated the Samurai of Japan in an international friendly by two goals to nil at the Yokohama Stadium on Wednesday.
Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey scored through a powerful free kick in the eighth minute of play in the first half and with five minutes after the second half sensational Spanish based Emmanuel Boateng was obstructed in the 18-yard box for a spot kick which was clinically converted in the 49th minute for the scoreline to stay 2-0.
Japan intensified the pressure on Ghana in search of the equalizer but the Black Stars’ back four led by Nicholas Opoku was on hand to prevent them from getting the equalizer.
The Blue Samurai couldn’t recover as Ghana maintained their two-goal lead to win the clash.
The Black Stars will next face Iceland in another friendly on June 7.
