Ghana’s U-20 Women’s Coach, Yussif Bassigi has invited six Elmina Sea Lions Ladies to augment his squad ahead of the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup to be staged in France in August this year.

The six players are Blessing Agbomadzi, Zenatu Alhassan, Cecilia Hagan, Olivia Anokye, Bridget Adu and Martha Annan.

Ghana’s World Cup team have been hit by major injuries with less than three months to France and coach Basigi could get some replacements ahead of the tourney.

The Princesses dispatched Cameroon 4-1 in the final round of the qualifiers for the World Cup,  which saw them go the long haul without a loss while scoring many goals including a 5-0 win away to Algeria.

The team is in Group A along with host, France, Netherlands and New Zealand.

They will kick-off the tournament by playing host, France, in the opening match of the tournament on August 5, 2018.

Meanwhile, coach Basigi will be hoping to go a step further than his predecessor, Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, did two years at Papua New Guinea where the team exited the tournament at the group stage.

The team lost the opening game and drew the final two group matches to bow out of the tournament with only two points.
