Ghana Premier League referee Samuel Sukah has been captured accepting GHC 2000 cash to rig the match week 8 fixture between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak in favour of the Phobians.
During the March 19, 2017 game, Sukah awarded a controversial penalty in the 84th minute to the home side Hearts of Oak after Awudu Nafiu was adjudged to have handled the ball.
Hearts defender Vincent Atinga made no mistake as he stepped up to convert the spot kick which ensured they picked up all three points.
Despite massive outrage especially from Asante Kotoko after the game, the middle man was cleared by the Referee Review Committee of any wrongdoing in the Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sukah, as the main man, took Ghc 2,000, while Assistant One Eric Nantiere and Assistant Two Salifu Rahman both pocketed an amount of Ghc 1,500 each in the latest undercover documentary premiered by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The victory ended Asante Kotoko’s unbeaten run at the time and placed third after the season.
