The former Foreign Affairs Minister, Hanna Tetteh, has been appointed the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi, Kenya.
The appointment of the Ghanaian politician was announced by UN Secretary-General, António Guterres on Friday.
Ms. Tetteh succeeds Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde who has been appointed as Special Representative to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union (UNOAU).
Ms. Tetteh most recently served in the cabinet of the Government of Ghana as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Trade and Industry.
She was also the former Member of Parliament for the Awutu-Senya West constituency in the Central region.
She is a practising lawyer and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana.
