The Black Satellites of Ghana have made it to the 2019 Africa Youth Championship after a 1-1 draw with Benin in the second leg of the final qualifier.

Ghana after managing a 3-1 win over their counterparts in the first leg game at the Cape Coast Stadium needed to avoid a heavy defeat to progress to the competition to be hosted in Niger.

The three-time Africa Champions who previously missed out on the competition were up to the task as they held their Beninese counterparts away from home.

Midfielder Prosper Ahiagbo scored the all-important goal for the Black Satellites with 8 minutes left to play after the home side had scored midway in the second half.

The result was thus enough to send Ghana though to next year’s Africa U20 Nations Cup on a 4-2 aggregate.
