Former Ghana Tennis Star, Enoch Godi currently based in the United States is organizing a two day tennis tournament from 7-8, September for children between the ages of 8-16 years at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The two day tournament put together by his NGO, Hope Performance Tennis Foundation,  has been preceded with a clinic which started on Wednesday and ends today (Thursday).

Twelve clubs are expected to participate in the event for the Under-12, Under-14 and Under-16. The Program is aimed at unearthing talent and nurturing them to become world Champions

Those who will excel in the tournament will be taken to Winneba and Takoradi Sports Colleges.

“Kids that will do well will be selected to camp in Winneba for a week or two and then move to Takoradi. They will be trained and all cost will be paid by Hope foundation.

“We are hoping to partner Tennis Clubs in the USA so players who will show potential will be taken there to be groomed. This will help us develop more Champions for the country,” he told Starr Sports.

Godi’s brilliance earned him a ticket to represent the country in the West African Junior Championship for the 18-year category in 2010 in his playing days.
