The family attempted to cross the bridge with their car

Six people are reported dead after torrential rainfall at Esereso Adagya in the Bosomtwi  in the Ashanti region Thursday night.

The victims, believed to be a family traveling in their vehicle,  were washed away after the Attafuah bridge caved in as a result of the downpour.

The bridge reportedly became weaker after the Ankonim River overflowed its bank.

All the bodies except one have been retrieved, Ultimate FM’s Isaac Bediako Justice reported.

The Ashanti regional coordinator of the NADMO Kwabena Nsenkyire  has visited the scene.
