Another former appointee of former President John Mahama, Kojo Bonsu, has joined the race to lead the NDC for the 2020 elections.

The former Mayor of Kumasi in the Ashanti region met the founder of the party Jerry Rawlings to discuss his plans of leading the party Friday.

The move by Mr. Bonsu appears surprising as he has been known to be an ardent follower of the former President having organised the the ‘unity walk’ campaign across the country, which was led by Mr. Mahama.

The NDC founder in a tweet described the former mayor as a man with a determined spirit.

He will have to beat his former boss and 10 others including Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Professor Joshua Alabi and second deputy speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin for the flagbearer torch.
