The Director of Jerfix International— an advertising, branding and printing company in Accra, Jerry Jiriku has been arrested by the Kibi Police Command.

He was arrested together with one Sampson Sefa Boateng over electrocution of three persons.

Ten others also sustained various degrees of injuries in the incident that occurred Sunday at Akyem Asikam—a community near Kibi in the East Akyem Municipality of the Eastern Region when the company was mounting a giant billboard at the roadside.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, suspect Sampson Sefa Boateng reported at the Kibi Police station that he was mounting a giant billboard for a yet to be built platinum Vocational and Technical school at Akyem Asikam on behalf of Mr. Jiriku.

They succeeded in mounting the first billboard however when they started to mount the second, it fell on high tension cables and got 13 workers electrocuted.

Three of the workers namely Kwadwo Wadasi, 25, Oboye Joshua, 20, and Agyei Taller, 40, died as a result.

Five others identified as Danso, Emmanuel ,32,Charles Kofi Nyarko , 45,Stephen Namor ,33,Nana Yaw Ofori and Karikari Richard ,22, were treated and discharged at the Kibi Government hospital while the rest: Larbi Phillip, 34, Asante George,30, Ebenezer Addo,30, Haruna  Abdul Rahaman, 23 and Owusu Isaac,15 are also on admission responding to treatment.

The bodies of the deceased persons have since been deposited at the Kibi Government hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

The suspects are assisting Police in Investigation.
