The Ghana Health Service (GHS) in the Ashanti Region on Monday called for calm in the wake of reports of  disease outbreak at the Wesley Girls High School leading to the death of a student.

The student who has been identified as Debora Asante Yeboah died on Saturday after she was rushed to the Tafo Government Hospital.

Four others were also referred to the Wesley Methodist Clinic with other conditions which the health service has described as non-infectious and non-communicable.

Health service officials Monday Morning visited the school and the two hospitals in question to conduct their investigations.

Speaking to Ultimate F, Deputy Ashanti regional health director in charge of Public Health, Dr. Awudzie Yeboah said the situation is under control.
