On April 12, 2019, the management of Hocen Industrial Company was greeted with a horrific news, armed robbers had attacked our factory site in Asuboi in the Ayensuano District. In the ensuing event one of our expatriate workers by name Song Zhaosheng from Qingzhou city, Shandong Province lost his life. The robbers made away with 7 mobile phones, One Hp Laptop, 37,000.00 Ghana cedis, and 15,000.00 Chinese Yuan.

Management is grateful for the efforts by the Ghana Police Service, and other security agencies in an attempt to bringthe perpetrators of such heinous crime to book. As a team, the demise of 58 year old man is a heavy blow to the company as our architectural setup for the establishment of a paper processing plant under the One District, Onefactory (1D1F) project was anchored on his shoulders.

We mourn with the family both here in Ghana and back home.We want to state without equivocation that, we shall do all within our might to make sure the robbers are apprehended and made to face justice.

To this end, we are calling on the Ghana Police Service, Minister for National Security, Bureau of National Investigations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghana Export Promotion Council, and the office of 1D1F to take a keen interest in this matter as these Chinese nationals are in this country as a result of Ghana government’s efforts to attract foreign direct investment (FDI’s) specifically during the 3rd Summit of the Forum on China Africa Co-operation (FOCAC), in Beijing, China.

We wish to also appeal to the general public especially residents in and around the environs of Asuboi area to help us with any information that can lead to the arrested of these criminals.

Thank You and God bless us all!
