Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday were crowned French ligue 1 title title at the parc de Princes. T

he capital based club won the title three weeks ago but needed to win against Dijon to complete the job in front of their partisan. Playing the game in front of 40,000 spectators PSG did not disappoint as they thumped relegated Dijon 4-0.

Angel Di Maria opened the scores for them before Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe added the 2nd, 3rd and 4th with Mbappe grabbing a brace o the night.

The win took PSG’s point tally to 91, 14 better than second placed Lille who beat Angers 5-0 at home in one of Saturday’s other fixtures. Watching the game on a wet Saturday night, fans of PSG came out in their numbers to watch the game and also be part of the crowning moment. Manager Thonas Tuchel played without star man Neymar but still had the likes of Mbappe, Di Maria and Cavani to rely on. He also left out Gianluigi Buffon and Thiago Silva and Marco Verratti from the squad. But to my surprise the German played Dani Alves in midfield.

Head of Sports at EIB Henry Asante Twum was at the crowning

This is my first time of witnessing the crowning moment of any European club by thanks to StarTimes and LFP, I saw things for my self tonight. Paris Saint- Germain were in hunt for a treble this season until they lost to Manchester United in the Champions league and Rennes in the French ligue cup respectively. The PSG faithful chanted and sang the names of their heroes all night at the parc de Princes.

The game between PSG and Dijon capped another superlative day in the French ligue 1 VIP tour as guests were taken to the city centre to enjoy a benefit of some tourists sites in Paris. The tour took us to the Aisle tower, hotel du Sully and other attractive and historic places. PSG are Champions of France for yet another year but the big that continue to linger on the mind of the fans in the future of the club and their lack of fight and desire for the UEFA champions league.

For now, the manager Thomas Tuchel has to start building the team to compete in next season’s champions league.

Reporting from Paris, this has been Henry Asante Twum
