Productivity at the Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International airport is likely to be affected in June and July of this year, because of the heavy rains expected in capital.

The Terminal 3 on two occasion has been flooded after heavy downpour. Which according to facility managers is caused by a poor drainage system at the Airport.

President of the International Facility Management Association, Sampson Opare Agyeman speaking to Starr Business said managers of the facility must fix the problem to help protect the country’s image and also boost productivity.

He said “if airport is flooded and there are passengers there, they cannot stay there, they cannot stay in the water and so that is one of the effects.

“And if our airport goes international and people get to know that anytime it rains the place if flooded, then it cause some panic, and it will really affect productivity because those managing the space will be affected, the attention will now be focused on trying to manage the situation and solving the problem for travelers to be comfortable and stay in the airport, and therefore for sure it will affect productivity,” he added.
