After a relatively quiet transfer window so far, Arsenal have completed their first business this summer, sealing a £4million deal to sell David Ospina to Napoli.

Formal confirmation of the move is expected to come after Colombia’s participation in the Copa America is over, however, sources close to the player have confirmed to football.london that the deal is complete.

The Colombian goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Napoli, making 24 appearances in all competitions and keeping eight clean sheets.

Though Ospina fell one game short of the 25 at which Napoli would have been obliged to sign him on a permanent basis for £4million.

The Partenopei had hoped to negotiate that price downwards with Arsenal but ultimately caved to the Gunners demands. Unai Emery will be forced to dive into the market for a goalkeeper after Petr Cech hanged his boots at the end of last season.
