The Interior Minister Ambrose Dery has announced Wednesday, June 5 should be observed as a statutory public holiday.
The day marks the Eid-al-Fitr celebration by Muslims worldwide, marking the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting.
“The general public is hereby informed that Wednesday, 5th June 2019 which marks the celebration of Eid-al-Fitr, is a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country,” Dery said in a statement.
