Eden Hazard has been named the UEFA Europa League Player of the Season 2018/19.

The now Real Madrid attacker has beaten competition from current teammate Luka Jovic and former teammate at Chelsea Olivier Giroud to win the title.

The Belgian led the Blues to the title last season under Maurizio Sarri, scoring twice and assisting once in the final as they swept Arsenal aside in a 4-1 thumping in Baku in May.

Hazard made eight appearances in total for the Blues in the competition, scoring twice and assisting a similar number, having played 451 minutes.

Giroud was considered among the favourites to win the gong, following a near-perfect campaign, where he finished as a top scorer with 11 goals.

Jovic on the other hand single-handedly led Frankfurt Eintracht to the semifinals, where they lost to eventual winners, Chelsea.

He also ended the campaign as the second top-scorer behind Giroud with 10 goals.
