Hundreds of residents of Abuakwa and Tanoso in the Ashanti region are demonstrating over poor roads in the area.

According to the residents, the poor road network is causing heavy vehicular traffic in their districts.

Road users have to spend hours in traffic because the two single lanes are also used by all vehicles connecting from Ashanti Region to Bono Ahafo and the northern part of Ghana.

The residents told Starr News the roads are a major  concern to them.

The demonstrators are holding placards with  inscriptions directing the President to give Atwima it’s share of the National cake.

The situation, according to them, is also affecting the commercial activities in the area.

Some traders said  they are loosing customers because of the difficulty it takes to get to the market.
Some commercial drivers  also angered by the development noted they are unable to make enough sales due to the long hours they waste in traffic.
