An alleged mobile phone thief was nearly lynched Thursday at about 11am by a mob in Koforidua .
The timely intervention of a Police Officer saved the suspect who was being beating to pulp by the mob with belts, sticks and inflicted with blade wounds in front of the Calvary Assembly of the Assemblies of God Church .
The Suspect was absconding with a mobile phone he had allegedly snatched from a lady but was chased and caught by the youth after the victim raised alarm.
The mob severely assaulted the suspect but the intervention of the Police Officer who whisked the suspect into a taxi saved his life.
The suspect is in Police custody being issued medical forms for treatment.
