Government has revealed that fisher-folks in the coastal regions will receive outboard motors as a means to support their trade before the year runs out

CEO of Coastal Development Authority (CODA), Jerry Ahmed Shaib made this revelation via his Facebook page after an engagement with fisher-folks in the Volta, Western, Central and Greater Accra regions.

According to him, Government through the CODA and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture will this year provide Outboard Motors and other Fishing inputs to the Fisher folks.

Mr Shaib also used the engagement to enlighten them [fishermen] about plans of the authority to establish CODA Credit union which is geared towards supporting mainly the fishing community with Credit facilities at very little or no interest.

He reiterated his commitment to making education within the Coastal belt a priority and also disclosed that fishmongers will be provided with Ahotor Ovens to help them smoke their Fishes under healthy and Hygienic conditions.

He emphasized President Akufo Addo’s commitment to completing all the landing beach projects before the end of his term in office.
