Students and travelers from Piina to Wa along the Piina-Jirapa road have been attacked and robbed off their school fees, belongings and phones among others Thursday.

The incident which happened in the early hours of Thursday affected students of Lawra SHS, Wa Senior High Technical, Wa, Technical Institute and Gbewaa college of education.

Narrating their ordeal to Starr News Upper West Regional Correspondent Morris Banaamwine, the robbery victims said upon reaching Tampouri junction, where the part of the road is bad, they saw touch lights flashing at them signalling the driver to stop, the driver stopped “and it was five men with guns, all speaking twi and they were all asked to bring their monies and belongings”.

The driver whose vehicle was robbed Abu Salifu  said he was terrified when he got to them as it was the first time been attacked by armed robbers along that route.
