A 28-year-old woman has accused a board member of the Energy Commission Alhaji Jabaru Abubakari of assault.

According to the woman, she had gone to knock at the door of Alhaji Jabaru, who is her co-tenant at Borteyman SSNIT flats, to appeal to his wife to reduce the level of noise coming from their room since it was disturbing her, but she ended up being slapped instead.

“They were pounding fufu around 7:30pm and the noise was unbearable so I called the wife to do something about it but she would not pick up. So I went to the door to knock and appeal to them so they could at least take the fufu downstairs to pound.

” While I was knocking, Alhaji came out of the room and asked if I had come to attack his family and I said no. While I was explaining myself, he held my shirt, pushed me and slapped me as well,” she recounted the incident to Starrfm.com.gh.

The woman said her cloths were torn as a result of the assault

She noted she has reported the matter to the Kaniewu police station at Ashaiman.

Reacting to the allegation, the Energy Commission board member denied the assault claims and said he will let his lawyers handle the matter. He however noted he has been to the station to respond to the charge.

“I have been to the station to respond to her false claim and I will take her own through the legal system. She is just spreading falsehood about me. I also don’t know why she is spreading my pictures and numbers around. I don’t even feel safe any longer in that area. She keeps bringing different people there, she even brought macho men to come beat me up,” he said.

Meanwhile, the lady added she has obtained a medical report to prove her case.
