The Microfinance and Small Loans Center (MASLOC) has, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, supported the 20th anniversary celebration of the Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin .

The delegations led by the Chief Executive Officer of the Center, Stephen Amoah, and Board Chairman Seth Adjei Baah, presented 30 crates of bottle water, a box of black Label, two boxes of Schnapps, crates of can Heineken ,15 crates of soft drinks, a Hamper and an unspecified amount of money and a big ram to the Overlord in celebrating his distinguished feat as a traditional ruler for the past two decades.

Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin said he was grateful to MASLOC for the support.

The King seized the opportunity to advise government appointees to serve Ghanaians with sincerity and optimum efficiency.

Speaking to Starr News, the Public Relations Officer of MASLOC, Fredrick Ohene Offei Addo said, the center recognizes the immense contributions of the Okyenhene to national development since ascending the stool particularly in area of environmental protection and sustainability, therefore the need to support his 20th anniversary celebration.

According to him, MASLOC supported Otumfuo during his 20th anniversary and will continue to support other distinguished traditional rulers in their pursuit to improve the living standards of the people.

The PRO for MASLOC Fredrick Ohene Addo said the Center under the current management has so far disbursed Ghc85million to small scale businesses and individuals out of which 70% of the beneficiaries are women.

He said recovery rate efficiency has been increased to 55% .

Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin known in private life as Odehye Kwame Amoatia Ofori Atta is the 35th King to have ascended the Ofori Panin Stool.

He ascended the throne on October 4th 1999, after the death of his predecessor and brother, Nana Kuntunkununku II.

He pledged to introduce real economic development, commercial growth and the general progress and welfare of the people particularly Children.

Osagyefo stated that he will improve the health, education and protect the environment noting that “the success of my reign is dependent totally on my ability as your leader to ensure that our future – our children – is really secure.” (Coronation speech, Oct. 11TH 1999).

These pronouncements by Okyenhene have been partly fulfilled although there is the quest for more by the people in the over 900 towns and villages under his traditional area.
