A police officer has been injured at Agona Swedru in the Central region after he was hit by a stone thrown by angry protestors who were demonstrating over the poor roads in the town.
The protestors clad in red armbands Monday morning blocked major roads linking the Swedru-Bawjiase, Swedru-Winneba and other surrounding towns demanding that the government fixes their roads.
The demonstrators who were chanting war songs claim that almost all the roads in town have gone bad and there have been no major repair works on them for years now.
An eyewitness told Starr News that the Police officer who approached the protestors to calm them down was unfortunately hit with a stone. He was whisked out of the area and sent to a nearby clinic for treatment.
