Police investigators in the case in which Sampson Agharlor and three others are standing trial for unlawful kidnapping of two Canadian nationals have returned monies taken from Agharlor, the first accused person.

In court today, Hilda Craig, a Senior State Attorney returned an amount of GHc650 to the court which belonged to Agharlor.

In the case of Jeff Omarsar, the third accused person, claim that investigators had also collected his money turned out to be untrue as it was his phone that was taken.

DOCUMENTS FROM CANADA

The Senior State Attorney also told the court that they are still waiting for documents from Canada which are very crucial to the matter.

She also said the investigator was unable to appear before the court because “I am reliably informed he is out of the jurisdiction for a national assignment”.

Lawyer Yaw Dankwa in his response accused the investigators of hiding behind the prosecution to squander the third accused person’s money.

In the absence of the supervisor, the lawyer said his superiors ought to have come to the court or written to inform the court.
