Mobile Telecommunication giant MTN has presented mother care hampers to babies born on Christmas Day, December 25th.

The hampers which comprise assorted baby products including baby diapers, towels, toiletries etc were presented to the mothers at the Effia Nkwanta and Essikado Government Hospitals all in the two Regional Capital Cities is the Western Region.

Management of MTN Ghana led by the Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area delivered the hampers on Boxing Day, December 26 to reflect the traditional exchange of gifts day as part of the telecom company’s quest to sharing love and giving back to society.
Eleven hampers were given to mothers at the Effiankwanta Regional hospital whereas abt 6 mothers who had delivered Christmas Babies and were receiving various levels of care at the Essikado Hospital’s Maternity ward were presented with the MTN colour theme decorated Hampers.

South –West manager of MTN Ghana David Woasey indicated that the gesture was part of the company’s CSR and also help share in the joy of the people in the company’s catchment areas.

“As we all know, this is the season we share gifts. For MTN, it’s been a culture for us to give hampers to newly born babies and this gesture is happening across the length and breadth of our country. This is also in line with our commitment to contribute to the progress of health delivery in the country’s ans put smiles on the faces of such mothers to enhance their joy of welcoming another life.

at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Madam Justina Amo-Yartey on behalf of the mothers thanked MTN for the gesture..” thank you very much for sharing this day with our mothers and putting smiles on the faces of our mothers especially the poor ones who couldn’t have been able to offer such to their babies.”
She, however, urged MTN to adopt the hospital’s wards and to help give the facility a facelift, “staff and Management of MTN and also Nana Kobina NKwtsua you have done well but we will, however, urge you to adopt our wards to be named after your company we will be grateful if you do that for us”.
