Dubai Chamber of Commerce Ghana is hoping to surpass the 1.2 billion dollars trade volume recorded last year.

According to the chamber, Ghana’s export trade in agriculture products with Dubai grew by 25 percent in 2018.

The value of Dubai agriculture sector is worth over 100 billion dollars.

The Chamber is optimistic about increasing non-oil trade with Ghana from 2019 to further deepen bilateral relations between Ghana and Dubai.

The head of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Cyril Darkwa says the first half data shows it possible for the trade volume to go beyond 1.2 billion dollars.

“The trade volume as at the first half of this year is aropund $ 900 million but we are yet to get the figures for the second half. Looking at the 2018 figures which was about 1.2 billion, we hoping that by the end of the year if we get the figures it will surpass the 1.2 billion. We are looking at breaking the 1.2 billion”

He added that the products traded between both countries hasn’t changes much, “it is still articles of gold, spare parts, lubricants, dairy products, automobiles, food stuff. Those are the major product traded between Dubai and Ghana.”
