The Creative Arts Council (CAC), an organization under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has kick-started an initiative dubbed “Arts for All” which is aimed at beautifying the capital city and also to make creative arts accessible to the general public.

The initiative which is a five-phase project will essentially see the CAC and its agents, painting and transforming interchanges in the capital city with artworks that tell the Ghanaian story and depicts the culture of the country.

Speaking to Journalists after touring the site of the first phase of the project which is currently underway at the Ako Adjei Interchange, the Director of the Creative Arts Council, Gyankoma Akufo-Addo, noted that the project offers Ghanaian artists a unique opportunity to showcase their talents and giftings to the good people of the Nation.

She further indicated that the Council has partnered with the Ghana Virtual Arts Association and Accra.org, for the project. The partnership she says has put together some forty three (43) artists who will be carrying out the initiative.

“This is one of the first projects that I am some immersely proud of because all of the artists that are involved have come together so positively, in way that is so strong and so unified, with a common goal to make our city look beautiful” Miss Akufo-Addo said.

According to Miss Akufo-Addo, the “Arts for All” initiative has as its target, the quest to remove the notion that arts and creative works are for just the elite in society. She stressed that the arts is for everyone and the “Arts for All” project will certainly achieve same.
