Media conglomerate EIB Network and NGO Grace Station Foundation have formed a partnership to share rice and other items to the needy as Accra and Kumasi observe a lockdown in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.

The partnership will see the two organisations sharing packs of water and canned fish to people in need in the affected communities.

The exercise is scheduled to begin Saturday, April 4 and will continue through the lockdown period.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has extended the closure of Ghana’s borders in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic by two more weeks.

This is to ensure that the risk of importation of covid-19 cases will remain curtailed while we focus on the enhanced tracing and testing program currently underway.

Mr President believes that these tough decisions are necessary to protect the lives of Ghanaians despite the inconvenience it causes to many.

On March 21 the president ordered the closure of the land, sea and air borders of the country as Ghana started registering cases COVID-19.

Ghana has so far recorded 205 cases of coronavirus with five fatalities and 38 recoveries.
