The Management of the East Cantonment Pharmacy Limited (ECP), a leading distributor of healthcare products and services on the Ghanaian market has appealed to government to consider extending the free bus service currently enjoyed by nurses to attendants and staff of pharmacies in the lockdown areas of the country.
Speaking to Starrfm.com.gh at the Jubilee House after donating a sum of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc 100,000.00) to the Covid-19 National Trust Fund, the Sales and Marketing Head of ECP Limited, Ebenezer Holm Graves, said staff of pharmaceutical companies have a challenge commuting from their homes to their workplaces to attend to the citizenry who need to purchase drugs.
“Public transport in terms of the trotros and the taxis have limitations on their movement and so there is a lot of frustration getting people to work. Apart from the Covid-19 crisis, all of us have our individual health needs that we have to go to the pharmacies to buy. So if pharmacy personnel are not there to open the shops, we will not be able to take care of our health needs,” Mr Graves said.
“Our appeal is that the authorities should consider adding pharmaceutical staff onto the Ayalolo service,” He added.
