The newly installed Okuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo, Ababio has extended his warm wishes to Ghanaian women on the occasion of Mother’s Day which falls today, Sunday, May 10, 2020.
In a message, the new King said: “We are reminded every day that it has always been mothers who are the foundation and the bedrock of every aspect of our lives. I celebrate all mothers even as I am still mourning and trying to come to terms with the loss of my own mother two weeks ago.
“Mothers always know what to say or do even in our afflictions Oseadeeyo wants to thank all mothers for their unending support and immerse contributions to our lives and great Akuapem state, our Homeland Ghana, and the world every day. Mothers we appreciate you and We say may God bless you all as we celebrate you this day”.
The king is known in private life as Odehye Kwadwo Kesse Antwi.
He succeeds Oseadeeyo Nana Addo Dankwa III who died five years ago.
Oseadeeyo Akuffo II is a graduate of the WestChester Community College, Val Halla, New York and an old student of the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon in Accra.
The process to install the new chief was fast-tracked after the Judicial Committee of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs ruled last Thursday on the Akuapem chieftaincy dispute to end years of litigation between two factions over who was to be rightfully installed the next chief of Akuapem.
