Two students at the Mawuko Girls School in Ho have reportedly been isolated by school authorities over fears they have contracted coronavirus.

Sources at the school told Starr News the Covid-19 response team in the region was called in to assist in isolating the students.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Mathew Opoku Prempeh has been detained at the University of Ghana Medical Center awaiting results of his second test for COVID-19.

The Minister was detained at the facility after reporting ill-health. His Press secretary has noted in a statement the minister had done an earlier test prior to the NPP primaries after feeling unwell but results came out negative.

Ghana’s Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman Manu is currently recuperating from the virus.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana’s biggest medical facility the Korlebu Teaching Hospital is also reported to have contracted the virus. More than 90 people have died of the virus in Ghana with scores others recovered.
