Arla foods, one of Ghana’s leading brands in milk products and makers of Dano milk has donated to frontline health workers at the Tema General Hospital.

The exercise which coincided with the celebration of world milk day saw items worth thousands of Ghana cedis handed to the staff of one of the country’s critical facilities in the combat of the Novel coronavirus.

Ghana joined the rest of the world in celebrating World milk day. The day set aside to highlight the importance of milk in our diet and how essential to have the high protein element in our foods was celebrated has become even more important as persons are advised to consume foods that will boost the immune system. Touching on the importance of the decision to celebrate the health workers, CEO of Arla Foods Ghana Fatu Mata said the sacrifices of health workers is what is keeping the world together.

“All across the world, frontline health workers are laying down their lives to battle this novel virus which has crippled economies with many people unable to do what they do best. This is why we at Arla foods have thought it wise to celebrate health workers and their immense contribution”.

Receiving the items, Medical Director of the Tema General Hospital, Dr Richard Anthony expressed gratitude for the gesture. On his part, he stressed the need for more corporate entities to reach out to health facilities as they continue to battle the Corona Virus.
