Social activist Ernesto Yeboah has been granted bail after he was arrested at a Georg Floyd protest march Saturday nigh.

Commander in Chief of the Economic Fighters league Hardy Yakubu confirmed his release to Starr News’ Naa Dede Tettey Sunday.

Mr Yeboah who was leading the demonstration was picked up by some military and police personnel at the Black Star Square while the protest was ongoing.

He was reportedly arrested because the group did not wait for the IGP to respond to their notice to stage the protest. He is currently being taken to the Accra Regional Police command.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Tourism ministry on Friday held a funeral in honour of Mr. Floyd.

On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after Derek Chauvin, a white police officer, knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes while he was lying face down handcuffed on the street.
